Hello, my name is Dawn Newbern.  I am excited to be able to offer some of my creations to you through  La Dee Dah Art. 

 

  I am married to my awesome husband Chris who is also very creative and has been my biggest encouragement.  I do sometimes have to horn-snoggle him away from fishing or hunting to cut out hairbow holders or drag him to an art festival, but he is usually pretty willing to help.  I could not do what I do without him.  God has blessed us with two precious little boys, Will and Eli, who bring us great joy!  They are truly an answer to many hours throughout several years of prayer.  Both of our parents are also greatly supportive of our endeavors and I must say they are super grandparents!

 

I have loved to doodle and create for as long as I can remember, and at times dreamed of being an interior designer or decorator of some sort.  However, instead I ventured  into the dental field and became a Dental Hygienist and have had a wonderful career.  I have been painting now for about nine years-wow how time flies!

My first paint job was for Aunt Suzy.  I painted a big green wine bottle with some (now really funny looking fruit on it) for her and she took it to her favorite gift shoppe and the rest is history.  Thanks Suzy!

 

Thanks to all of my wonderful clients.  Many of you have been patient and very encouraging to me throughout these years.  I would like to say that Vivian Shirah, owner of Vivian's Gift Shoppe has always been incredibly encouraging to me with my artwork.  Many times she would ask me to paint something for her and I would bring it back (very nervously) and she would have that sudden gasp followed by "Ahhhh, that is to die for" that was very helpful to me as a budding artist. 

 

I learn something new each time I paint and I am continually creating something different.  Check back often to see what's new.  We do a lot of custom work matching fabrics and paint colors in what I believe is a very simple process for my clients.  Please feel free to email us with any projects you may be interested in.  We just may be able to create it for you.
